Discover traditional crafts under the guidance of a certified Hagi Yaki pottery craftsman!

Forget the stresses of everyday life and enjoy the feeling of soothing ceramic clay on your fingertips! In a private session for 1 to 6 participants, traditional Hagi yaki craftsman Taikei Higuchi will provide one-on-one guidance as you try your hand at your chosen pottery technique. Each activity takes about 10 minutes.

The pottery techniques you can choose from are…
① Creating a tumbler cup on an electric potter’s wheel
② Applying brushmark slip (hakeme)
③ Applying glaze

Optional services such as kiln firing and specifying glaze colors are available for an additional fee. If you would like to keep the piece you made and have it fired, your finished piece will be shipped in 3 to 5 months.

Photos taken during the experience will be sent to your smartphone at the end, where you can also enjoy a glass of refreshing natsumikan orange juice.
