Join us on our sustainable cycling tour, focusing on sake brewing in Hagi and the region that supports it. Our local guides will take you through the beautiful rice fields of Hagi where the sake rice is grown, to the rice polishing factory where you can learn about the rice polishing process, and to the sake brewery itself, where the sake master will show you how they brew sake.

Hello, we’ll be your guides for the tour! Having moved to Hagi ourselves, we want to show everyone the beauty and authenticity of Hagi.
We’re certain you’ll love this tour—even if you don’t drink sake!
Schedule
- Meet with us at Yachiyo Sake Brewery.
- We will explain the details of the tour and how to use the E-bike.
- The tour begins! We will visit five spots.
- Sake rice fields & the different types of sake rice, as well as how it’s grown.
- The rice polishing factory, where the secretary-general and factory manager will give us an exclusive tour.
- The unique cat-themed Unrinji Temple, also known simply as the “Cat Temple.”
- A local spring with beautiful, clear water.
- Yachiyo Brewery, where the master sake brewer will give us a tour. You can even take a sneaky peek into the koji room, and try the leftover sake brewing rice (sake lees) and the water used to brew sake.

Local sake made in Hagi
Hagi City has the largest number of sake breweries in Yamaguchi Prefecture. Among them, Yachiyo Brewery is the oldest, having been established in the late 19th century.

Please note | ・You must be taller than 145 cm to ride the e-bikes provided. ・In the event that rain is forecast during the day of the tour, we will be in contact with you to decide whether or not to proceed. ・As the touring area is rather high in altitude, we recommend bringing a light jacket with you. ・There is a bottle holder fixed on the e-bike, so you can attach your drink bottle for ease of access. ・We also have a small saddle pack that attaches to the e-bike to keep your valuables safe. ・We strongly recommend that you bring water during hot weather to prevent heat stroke. |
