Make your own Japanese drip coffee in our former samurai residence café.
With support from our coffee connoisseurs, we offer a fun activity where you can create your own unique blend of coffee from a selection of six different kinds of coffee beans. Once you have chosen the coffee beans you’d like to use, our staff will blend them together and put them into two drip coffee bags for you to take home.
This program runs for an hour and includes a complimentary cup of coffee and a small homemade snack for you to enjoy.

Nagayamon Café Tikal
A local café in Hagi that has been serving coffee for over 30 years. Our coffee beans are all roasted on the premises, and with a selection of over 20 varieties, we strive to make coffee that is perfectly suited to Hagi and its climate.
We look forward to helping you make your own unique blend of coffee!
Schedule
- Register by phone or via our website.
- After handing out written instructions and a special form to design your coffee blend, our staff will explain each coffee bean and their distinct characteristics.
- Create your own coffee blend.
- Enjoy a cup of coffee and a light snack while you wait for your coffee blend to be created. Our staff will hand you two drip bags of your original coffee blend once completed.
- Finish! Pay at the counter and enjoy your unique blend of coffee at home!

Nagayamon Gate of the Kogawa Family
A municipally-designated tangible cultural property. The Kogawa Family belonged to the lower samurai class, and served as the town magistrate of Hagi from 1865 to 1868.
